Mission

‘Mission’ means different things to different people. At Sidley Baptist Church we believe that it refers to any activity that God has commanded us to do that involves working with the wider community, whether that be in Sidley, the UK or overseas. Here are a few examples of current and past mission work at our church:

  • Acts 435, which facilitates anonymous giving to help the needy in our local area.
  • Christians Against Poverty, through which we provide free debt counselling and run a money management course.
  • Street Pastors, who go out on Friday and Saturday nights to engage with people as they leave the pubs and clubs.
  • Overseas mission, where we have supported and visited churches in Africa and India.
  • CAP Release, to help people struggling with addictive behaviours. This is coming soon, please contact office@sidleybaptistchurch.co.uk for details.
  • The Pelham, a community project based in a refurbished pub/hotel
