And church is so much more than Sunday worship, for sure. But Sunday worship is a key time when we come together and join with millions of other Christians across the world to praise God, learn what it means to be a Christian in the changing world we live in and use the skills God has given us to benefit the community.
We were created to worship and the best things are done together! We are seeking to not only be ‘a church without walls’ living in the community but also ‘a church without a ceiling’ – as we press in to experience God. Our desire is that the hand and heart of God would reach our hands and and our hearts.
On a normal Sunday we meet for prayer at 9-10am then at 10am for refreshments and chat, and finally worship at 10.30am with Spirit led worship, bible preaching, testimonies amongst other things. We are open to all that God wants to show us and teach us during this time, with testing of course (1 Thess. 5:21)
“When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up” 1 Cor. 14:26
We really try to put this Scripture into practice. At Freedom Church, we love and value people and their gifts. For this Scripture to work it requires courage, patience, faith, obedience and perhaps most of all Romans 12:10, “honouring” one another.
Church is all about Christ to the glory of God the Father in the power of the Holy Spirit, but it is also about ‘one another’. We need Christ first and we need Christ the most but we also need each other. Learning to listen and to honour each other is central here. If this is your heart, then this could be your spiritual home!
“So that through the church, the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places” Eph. 3:10
